Knowage is an analytics and business intelligence platform that combines data from relational databases, big data and NoSQL stores, Solr indexes, flat files and external services. It presents the results as charts, maps, KPIs and interactive dashboards, and supports self-service analysis, multi-tenancy and granular access control. Knowage is available in a Community Edition and a commercial Enterprise Edition; the Virtual Assistant, Data Preparation and Dossier features are listed as Enterprise-only. It can be deployed on premises or in the cloud, and Docker images are published.

Knowage is developed by Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A., an Italian company, and grew out of the SpagoBI project managed by the OW2 consortium. The Community Edition source code is published under the AGPL-3.0 licence. Because you can run it on your own servers, data and keys remain under your control, and the licence allows inspection of the code. A European organisation can therefore operate Knowage without a non-European provider, buying support only through the commercial edition if needed.
