kube-green is an open-source Kubernetes operator that reduces the energy use and cost of clusters by switching workloads off when nobody needs them. A team defines schedules, for example stopping Deployments and CronJobs outside office hours and starting them again in the morning. The operator runs inside your own cluster, and the website mentions no hosted service. It therefore covers the narrow part of commercial cost-management tools that deals with idle resources, mainly in development, test and staging environments.

Because you install the operator yourself and no customer data goes to a vendor, processing stays within the infrastructure you choose, for example a European cloud or your own data centre.
