It offers a cost explorer for trends and savings opportunities, recommendations on configuration and inefficiencies, budgets with forecasting, and cost allocation with automated alerts. It connects to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, for which you grant read-only access; it reads billing data, the state of discoverable resources and monitoring data. According to the documentation, the platform is built on the open-source OptScale project from Hystax. It is a European alternative to US FinOps platforms.
SoftwareOne is headquartered in Switzerland. No owner outside Switzerland has been identified. The vendor is therefore outside US jurisdiction, although the connected US cloud services remain subject to their own terms. The documentation does not say where the data is stored and contains no data processing agreement or GDPR commitment. Ask SoftwareOne for the hosting location and the contractual terms before connecting billing data. The product itself is not open source; only the underlying base, OptScale, is.
