LemonLDAP::NG: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

LemonLDAP::NG is free software for web single sign-on and access management. It handles authentication through LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, databases, CAS, SAML and OpenID Connect, among others, and can itself act as an identity provider for CAS, SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect. Authorisation uses access rules based on attributes and groups, and user identity is recorded in logs. Second factors include TOTP, WebAuthn and email. The system consists of a portal, a manager for administration and optional handlers for Nginx, Apache and other web servers.

The project is installed yourself, from packages for Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL and SUSE, with Docker or from a tarball. No vendor hosts your data: sessions and configuration reside on your own infrastructure. The project website is hosted by Worteks and its code forge is run by OW2. LemonLDAP::NG is FranceConnect certified and follows the OpenID Connect guidelines of the French security agency ANSSI. Installation, administration and maintenance require in-house expertise.
