LibreChat is an open-source AI chat platform that offers a single interface for multiple model providers. It includes agents, support for MCP, a code interpreter, artifacts, memory and web search, with authentication for multiple users. You run it yourself with Docker Compose or Helm, locally or in the cloud, and connect the language models of your choice. A public demo is also available on librechat.ai.
According to ClickHouse, the company has acquired LibreChat; the founder and the team joined ClickHouse. ClickHouse, Inc. gives a California address in its privacy policy, so the owner is based in the United States. ClickHouse says the software remains open source under the MIT licence and that existing deployments are unchanged. The demo is hosted by Hetzner in Falkenstein, Germany. When you self-host, your organisation decides where data is stored; if you use model providers outside the EU, prompts are sent to them.
