Livedrive is a cloud backup and sync service. The Backup product automatically copies the files of a PC or Mac to the cloud, with unlimited backup storage according to the vendor. Briefcase is an online folder for accessing, editing and sharing files from any device, and Pro Suite combines both. Business and reseller products add multi-user backup and collaboration. Apps are available for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and ChromeOS, alongside a web portal. The service is delivered as software as a service.
Livedrive Internet Ltd. is a company in the United Kingdom, which is not an EU member state. It is part of a US group: j2 Global acquired it in 2014, and its website describes it as a Ziff Davis company, a US parent that is a CLOUD Act signal. The vendor states that files are stored in UK data centres that are ISO 27001 certified. According to a 2021 independent review, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, but the vendor holds the keys because there is no end-to-end encryption.
