LoopsFinanz is accounting software for Swiss small and medium-sized businesses, trustees and associations, developed by ComputerWorks AG in Münchenstein. It covers double-entry bookkeeping, VAT returns, cost centres, foreign currencies, open-item accounting with Debi/Kredi, QR-bills and bank interfaces using camt and pain files. The companion product LoopsLohn handles Swiss payroll, including wage statements, AHV reporting and withholding tax. Both programs run as desktop applications for macOS and Windows. Each set of books is a single file.
ComputerWorks AG is headquartered in Switzerland, and the website names no foreign parent company. Because the software is installed locally, your accounting data stays on your own computers by default. A server version built on the cubeSQL database server allows several people to work together, either on your own hardware or, according to the vendor, on a virtual server at a Swiss cloud provider such as Infomaniak. Switzerland is not an EU member state but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision. The site says nothing about a data processing agreement, so ask for one if you choose the cloud option.
