Midori is a web browser from Astian, available for desktop and Android, with a Midori Enterprise edition for businesses. It is built on Gecko, the Firefox engine (GeckoView on Android). According to Astian, ad blocking, anti-tracking, a Never-Consent feature and IA Shield are enabled by default, a VPN (MidoriVPN) can be activated from the side panel, and private search runs through AstianGO. Astian also states that telemetry is off by default, no account is required and no data is synchronised to company servers.
Astian says Midori's code is public, and Midori is listed under the LGPL-2.1-or-later licence. Astian's privacy policy names Astian, Inc. as the operator but does not state its country or address, so European organisations should verify the legal entity and jurisdiction before adopting it. Device sync is currently provided by Mozilla, and Google's Safe Browsing API is used, so some functions involve US providers.
