Mullvad Browser is a free, open-source privacy browser developed together with the Tor Project and distributed by Mullvad. Mullvad describes it as a Tor Browser without the Tor network: it follows Tor's privacy standards, reduces browser fingerprinting, including through letterboxing, and uses uBlock Origin to block third-party trackers. Private mode is on by default, third-party cookies are isolated during a session, no cookies persist between sessions and the browser has no telemetry. It runs on Linux, macOS and Windows and is installed as a desktop application.
The distributor is Mullvad VPN AB, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, and subject to Swedish and EU law. The browser is built on Mozilla's Gecko engine and released under the Mozilla Public License. Mullvad's privacy policy states that it stores and processes personal data only within the EU/EEA.
