It offers Gantt-chart planning, agile boards for Scrum and Kanban, a team planner for assigning tasks and viewing workloads, and a public API. There is a free Community edition, an Enterprise edition for self-hosting and an Enterprise cloud edition hosted by OpenProject itself.

OpenProject is developed by OpenProject GmbH in Berlin, Germany. The software is released under the GNU GPL v3.
