According to its annual report filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Paylocity serves clients that typically have 10 to 5,000 employees, in the United States. Clients do not install software; the platform is accessed through a web browser or mobile device.

Paylocity is headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois, and listed on Nasdaq (PCTY). It is therefore directly subject to US law, including the CLOUD Act. The annual report says Paylocity uses multiple cloud hosting and third-party data centre providers and names locations in Illinois and Wisconsin. It makes no data residency commitment.
