peka is modular pension-fund administration software from Büro 70 AG in Ostermundigen, Switzerland. It supports autonomous and semi-autonomous pension foundations, defined-contribution and defined-benefit plans and mixed forms, and calculates contributions, benefits, buy-ins, pensions and vesting benefits. It includes workflow and internal-control support, access for insured persons and employers, and interfaces to payroll, HR and accounting systems. The technical basis is Windows clients and servers with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. According to the vendor's privacy statement, peka is also available as a cloud service.
Büro 70 AG has existed since 1970 as an independent, self-financed company; no foreign parent is named. Switzerland is not an EU member but an EFTA country, and the EU has recognised its data protection level through an adequacy decision. For the cloud service, the vendor says customer data is stored on its service providers' servers and processed under a processing agreement, without naming a location; the installed version runs on your own servers. Pension data is sensitive, so ask where the cloud service runs.
