PostFinance is a Swiss retail bank for private and business customers. Its range includes current and savings accounts, debit and credit cards, domestic and international payments, currency exchange, mortgages and personal loans, investing in funds, ETFs and shares, and third-pillar pension accounts. Customers use online banking and mobile apps. The bank belongs to the Swiss postal group and is headquartered in Bern.
PostFinance AG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Die Schweizerische Post AG, and it is supervised by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) under the Swiss Banking Act. There is therefore no foreign parent company. The service is not available as open-source software and is not offered as a self-hosted solution. For a European organisation, PostFinance is a Swiss bank outside the EU, subject to Swiss supervision and Swiss data protection rules rather than the GDPR. For business use, the data processing and transfer terms should be reviewed before onboarding.
