Powell 365 is an intranet and digital workplace layer built on Microsoft 365. According to the vendor, it turns Microsoft 365 into the intranet employees use, and it adds governance and a knowledge base that AI tools can draw on. The product runs entirely inside the customer's Microsoft 365 tenant, so it is delivered as an extension of a Microsoft service rather than as a separate hosted platform.
Powell Software SAS, based in Paris, France, publishes the product. Because the software runs in the customer's Microsoft 365 tenant, the data sits within Microsoft's infrastructure. The vendor's privacy policy states that its own infrastructure is hosted by Microsoft Azure without naming a region, and that personal data may be transferred to recipients in the EEA, the United Kingdom and other countries, such as the United States, under model clauses. For a European organisation, the sovereignty question therefore depends on the Microsoft 365 tenant it already operates.
