QTrust Admin Proxy is a product of QGroup GmbH for controlled remote maintenance of critical internal systems and production facilities by external service providers. It acts as a secure terminal or jump server: outside administrators sign in with QGroup's QTrust ID, using up to three authentication factors including biometrics, and manage systems over protocols such as RDP, SSH, HTTPS and VNC. According to the vendor, a configurable command blacklist and the prevention of hopping between systems keep the provider within its authorised scope, and sessions are logged centrally in a tamper-proof way and can optionally be video-recorded. The pages consulted do not say whether it is an appliance, software or virtual machine.
QGroup GmbH is headquartered in Wehrheim, Germany. The product is built on PitBull, a multilevel trusted operating system from the US company General Dynamics, so the stack includes a US-made component. The pages consulted do not say where data is processed. For European operators of critical infrastructure and industry, it offers a way to supervise third-party maintenance access from a German vendor.
