SafeNet Trusted Access is the cloud-based workforce identity and access management service of Thales. According to Thales, it covers multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, risk-based authentication and passwordless options based on FIDO. The service is delivered as software as a service. Thales also offers the on-premises SafeNet Authentication Service Private Cloud Edition and the OneWelcome Identity Platform for customer identities, which form part of the same identity portfolio.
Thales is a French public company listed on Euronext Paris, with its headquarters in the La Défense business district near Paris. In the figures for 30 June 2025, the French state and Dassault Aviation each held about 26.6 per cent of the ordinary shares, so no single non-French shareholder controls the group. The Thales product pages do not say which cloud regions host the service, so organisations should request the hosting locations and sub-processors in writing before adopting it. For a European organisation this is an option from a French supplier, but hosting and support arrangements remain the deciding factors.
