MagentaCLOUD is Telekom's online storage service, which the company itself describes as a virtual hard drive. You keep photos, music, videos and documents there and open them through a browser, apps or PC software. Files can be shared by link, and Online Office lets you create and edit text documents, spreadsheets and presentations. The service works with other Telekom services, such as saving SmartHome camera recordings and Telekom Mail attachments. Access requires a free Telekom Login; two-factor authentication is optional.
The service is operated by Telekom Deutschland GmbH, based in Bonn. According to the product page, files are stored exclusively in certified data centres in Germany, and therefore within the EU. No parent company outside Germany is involved. Telekom's privacy notice states that some website features, such as analytics and chat, can send data to third countries including the US; this does not concern the storage of files themselves. For European users who want storage under German and EU law, this is a provider with an explicit location commitment.
