TestLink is a web-based system for test management and test execution. Quality assurance teams record test cases, group them into test plans and have team members run those plans, after which results are visible per test plan. It is written in PHP and installed on your own web server with a database; a Docker option also exists. It is meant for organisations that want to manage manual, structured testing without a vendor subscription.
TestLink is open source under the GPL. The website credits the TestLink Development Team with the copyright, and according to the readme no company or foundation stands behind it. The project lead has a public profile that lists Italy. The code is on SourceForge and GitHub. Version 1.9.20 is the last of the 1.9 series; the code was updated for PHP 8 in 2025, and a 2.x version with a new interface is in development. Because you host TestLink yourself, test data stays on your own infrastructure.
