Tuya Smart operates an AI cloud platform for building smart, connected products. It provides TuyaOS and development tools for devices, app tools (SDKs, OEM apps and mini-apps) and cloud services such as IoT Core, data analytics and real-time voice and video, plus support for Matter certification. Manufacturers and brands use it to bring devices to market and run them through Tuya's cloud and apps. It is delivered as a developer platform (PaaS) with SDKs and APIs; for enterprise solutions Tuya also lists a Cube Private Cloud.

Tuya is a Chinese company headquartered in Hangzhou, listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2021 and on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2022. According to Tuya's privacy page, its data centres are in Mainland China, Frankfurt (AWS), Eemshaven (Google Cloud), the US, Singapore and India; data of European users is stored in Frankfurt by default. Tuya reports GDPR verification in 2018. European organisations should still assess access, support and transfer arrangements from China, even when data is stored in the EU.
