VerificaID is a remote video identification service offered by Bewor. A person is identified during a video session using biometric comparison, after which a temporary cloud certificate can be issued. Organisations such as banks, fintech firms, telecom operators, insurers and law firms use this kind of process for customer onboarding and for retrieving data from public administrations. Bewor offers dedicated suites and an API so the service can be integrated into an organisation's own software. The service is listed in the CPSTIC catalogue of Spain's Centro Criptológico Nacional, in the list of qualified products.
The product comes from Bewor Tech, S.L., based in Granada, Spain. According to Bewor, the service runs in data centres within the EU and retains only the minimal metadata and evidence required for legal validity and audit; passwords and data extracted from the user are not stored. Bewor operates as a qualified trust service provider under Spanish supervision. Its website names no parent company. For a European organisation this means an identification service under Spanish and European law, hosted in the EU.
