WeWeb is a visual development platform, powered by AI, for building custom web applications with little or no code. Users can generate an app's structure from plain-language prompts and refine it in a drag-and-drop editor with workflows. Built-in integrations cover email, SMS, external APIs and databases such as Airtable, Xano and Supabase, and custom coded components can be imported. It is used for internal tools, client portals, SaaS products, directories and forms. The editor and published apps are delivered as a hosted service on AWS, and an app can be exported as a standard Vue.js single-page application.
The vendor says users own the apps they create. The exported application can be hosted on-premises or with any cloud provider, which gives an organisation control over where the finished app runs. WeWeb is not open source. For the hosted editor and published apps, the data processing agreement sets out the contracting entity, the subprocessors and the international transfer mechanisms, and a European organisation should review it, along with the hosting regions of any connected backend.
