Wimi is a French vendor and states that it hosts customer data in France, in its own data centres. According to the vendor, the SaaS offer holds the French SecNumCloud qualification (version 3.2) and is not subject to extraterritorial laws such as the US CLOUD Act. Wimi is not open source. For European organisations that need a hosting location and legal jurisdiction within the EU, the vendor positions the suite as a sovereign alternative to US collaboration platforms.
