Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) is an email platform for sending and receiving email with your own addresses and domains. Typical uses include transactional messages such as order confirmations, marketing email and newsletters, and receiving scenarios such as autoresponders or turning incoming mail into support tickets. SES is part of Amazon Web Services and is delivered as a cloud service through the SES API, the SMTP interface or the AWS console, with dedicated, shared or customer-owned IP addresses.
SES is offered by Amazon, a US company listed on Nasdaq; Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary. The service runs per AWS region, and you choose the region from which you send. European regions are available, including Frankfurt, Ireland, Paris, Stockholm, Milan and Zurich, alongside London. A European region determines where the infrastructure sits, but not the US jurisdiction of the provider.
