Amplitude Experiment is the experimentation and feature flag module within Amplitude's product analytics platform. Teams use it to test product changes before a full release: feature flags for staged rollouts to beta testers, a percentage of users or target audiences; A/B tests with variants, traffic allocation and metrics; and web experiments with a visual editor for less technical users. Any logged event can serve as a metric. Access is through the Amplitude Experiment SDK or the REST API, and the service is delivered as SaaS.
Amplitude is headquartered in San Francisco, in the United States, and is therefore subject to US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. Since 2021 the vendor has operated a separate, physically isolated EU data centre on AWS in Frankfurt, which it says supports both Analytics and Experiment. This lets you store customer data within the EU, although the US parent company remains in the processing chain. The software is not open source.
