Atos OneCloud: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Atos OneCloud is the cloud transformation programme that Atos launched in November 2020. It is not a cloud platform of its own but a bundled offering of ten components, including industry-specific consulting, multi-cloud orchestration, automated management, private and sovereign cloud platforms, application modernisation, cloud AI, bare-metal servers and cybersecurity supervision. It is aimed at existing and new clients at any stage of cloud maturity, who can migrate modularly. Atos delivers OneCloud through public, private or hybrid cloud environments, together with partners such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM-Red Hat and SAP.

Atos is a listed IT services company headquartered in Bezons near Paris, France. Where your data resides depends on the chosen environment and partner: in a hyperscaler environment, the jurisdiction of that provider applies. The software is not open source. For a European organisation this means a French integrator; fix the hosting location and the operating model contractually for each project.
