BIT is a Dutch provider of business internet, colocation, hosting and cloud. Its portfolio includes public, private and hybrid cloud, virtual data centres and virtual machines, colocation with rack space and power configurations, managed and shared hosting, backup, object storage, GPU hosting, hosted Nextcloud, email, domains and DNS, and internet connections. Nearly all services come with a service level agreement and a help desk available around the clock. The services are consumed as managed services or colocation.
BIT describes itself as an entirely Dutch company in Dutch ownership. It operates three data centres of its own in Ede, which run independently of one another, and according to the company its infrastructure, data centres and services are in the Netherlands, so data and management fall under Dutch and European law. The software is not open source. For a European organisation this means a supplier with Dutch owners and hosting in the Netherlands, without a non-European parent company.
