Badger is a digital loyalty programme for local cafés, restaurants and shops. Customers collect points through an app or an Apple or Google Wallet card, and the business scans their code at the till. The business sets its own rewards and thresholds. Badger notifies customers when a reward is close, requests Google reviews for the business and shows return visits and average spend in a dashboard. A native integration with the Lightspeed till system is available. Badger is delivered as SaaS and as an app.
Badger Service SA has its registered office in Jouxtens-Mézery (Vaud), Switzerland. Its privacy policy names Google Cloud Platform for hosting and states that data is kept mainly in Switzerland and the EEA, notably Frankfurt. Some data reaches the United States, for example through Google Analytics for Firebase, Intercom and the app stores, under the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Switzerland is not an EU member but an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision. So this is a Swiss company with a US cloud provider as hosting partner.
