It offers a customisable control panel, templating with Twig or a decoupled front end through a self-generating GraphQL API, unlimited sites, languages and locales, the Craft Commerce store builder and a plugin store. Craft can be installed and hosted by the customer; its makers also offer Craft Cloud, a managed hosting platform.

Craft is made by Pixel & Tonic, Inc. in Bend, Oregon (US). The source code is public on GitHub but is covered by the company's own Craft License: each licensed copy may run in one production environment and payment is a condition, so it is not a standard open-source licence. With Craft Cloud you choose a region for compute and database: United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom or Australia. Craft Cloud's management layer always runs in the US.
