Datakeen is a KYC platform for identity verification, aimed at organisations that need to onboard clients and meet anti-money-laundering obligations. According to the vendor, it checks the authenticity of identity documents, compares a selfie with the document photo using liveness detection, reads the NFC chip, screens people against PEP and sanctions lists and assigns configurable risk scores to client files. A workflow builder, hybrid manual review and a developer API are part of the platform, which is used as SaaS through a web app and an API.
Datakeen SAS has its registered office in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, and its site names no foreign parent. For identity checks the company acts as a processor on behalf of its clients. Its information notice for data subjects lists the sub-processors that host data: Amazon Web Services in Paris, Google Cloud in the European Union, 3DS Outscale in the Île-de-France region, MongoDB in Paris and Clever Cloud in Paris. Amazon, Google and MongoDB are US-owned companies, so the US CLOUD Act may apply even to data held in EU regions.
