DuckDuckGo Browser is a web browser from DuckDuckGo for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It blocks third-party trackers, targeted ads, cookie pop-ups and email trackers, and lets users clear tabs, history and browsing data in one step. It also includes a password manager and offers optional AI chat through Duck.ai, which can be switched off. On each platform it builds on the web engine supplied by the operating system, and it is installed as an app on the device rather than used as a hosted service.
DuckDuckGo Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in Paoli, Pennsylvania, in the United States, and has been independent since 2008. As a US company it is subject to US law, including the CLOUD Act. The browser itself is freeware: parts of the code of the mobile apps are published under the Apache-2.0 licence and the tracker list is open source, but the product as a whole is not open source.
