Dyad is an open-source desktop application for building web applications with AI, an alternative to hosted AI app builders such as Lovable, v0 or Bolt.new. Project files stay on your own disk, and you can use an external provider's models with your own API key, or a local model that also works offline. Services such as Supabase or GitHub can be connected.
Dyad is a product of Dyad Tech, Inc., a US company. The code is mostly Apache 2.0; the src/pro folder is under the Functional Source License 1.1 (fair-source), so the paid Dyad Pro is not fully open source. According to the privacy policy, with your own API keys prompts go directly to the model provider, and with a local model nothing leaves your device; Dyad's servers are not involved in either case. With Dyad Pro, prompts and code are proxied through Dyad servers, located in the US; some processors may operate in the US or the EU. For a European organisation, the choice between own keys, a local model or Pro determines where data ends up.
