Ecomail is a French email service that combines a mailbox with a bundle of collaboration apps. Besides webmail with IMAP, SMTP, POP3 and JMAP, it offers calendars via CalDAV, video calls without guest accounts, chat, co-editable notes, polls, forms, online booking, newsletters, tasks and temporary links for large files. You can give an assistant or colleague access with their own login, read-only or read-write per app. The service is delivered as SaaS.
According to Ecomail, its servers are in Paris, run by Scaleway on renewable hydropower. The provider is French and runs no advertising; it states that it does not sell user data and that 15 to 30 per cent of revenue goes to environmental associations. The website does not mention open-source code, although it relies on open standards such as IMAP, JMAP and CalDAV. For a European organisation this means French and EU jurisdiction with no foreign parent company. Ecomail.fr is not the same as the Czech email-marketing platform Ecomail.cz.
