Ellipsis is a platform that lets development teams build their own AI coding agents for feature generation, background tasks and code review. Agents are defined in YAML, with settings for repositories, triggers, compute and budgets, and run in isolated session sandboxes. The service offers interactive sessions, an API and integrations with GitHub, Linear, Slack, Sentry and Jira, plus governance with audit trails, scoped credentials and spending limits. It is delivered as a managed cloud service.
Ellipsis AI Inc. is based in New York and, according to its website, is backed by Y Combinator; no parent company is known. The privacy notice says data is processed within a private AWS VPC without naming a country or region, and it does not mention the GDPR. Because repositories and code go to a US cloud, European organisations should assess the data location, the use of third-party models and the applicable US law themselves before entrusting source code to it.
