elmah.io is a hosted error-logging and uptime-monitoring service for .NET. It collects errors from .NET web and logging frameworks, and from JavaScript applications, into dashboards for a single application or all applications combined. Alerts go out by email, Slack and Microsoft Teams. It also offers uptime checks from up to five regions, deployment tracking and heartbeats for scheduled tasks. Bugster, a built-in assistant, explains stack traces and suggests fixes, and an MCP server connects the service to AI tools.
elmah.io is developed by elmah.io ApS in Laasby, Denmark, and is bootstrapped without external funding. It is a closed-source service run by the vendor. Its published list of sub-processors includes Microsoft Azure for hosting, Cloudflare as firewall and content delivery network, and Stripe for billing. Bugster uses OpenAI models hosted on Azure; with a customer's own OpenAI, Gemini or Claude key, log data goes to that provider. Because logs can contain personal data, a European organisation should review the sub-processors and hosting before adoption.
