Fortnox is a Swedish web-based accounting and invoicing service. Its products include bookkeeping, invoicing and payroll software, mobile apps, a company card, payments, financing and integrations, and modules that together form a full cloud business system. Fortnox addresses startups and small businesses, established and growing companies, larger companies and groups, associations and schools, and accounting firms, which have a separate offering. It is delivered as a cloud service in the browser and through apps; no self-hosted edition is described.
Fortnox AB has its head office in Växjö, Sweden. Since 2025 it has been an EQT portfolio company, acquired through the EQT X fund. Fortnox says its services run on servers in data halls monitored around the clock, with accounting backups kept in a fourth, geographically separate hall. The public security page does not name the country of these facilities, so ask for the hosting location and sub-processors in the data processing agreement. Fortnox acts as processor and the customer remains controller.
