HeidiSQL is a graphical database administration tool. It connects to MariaDB, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Interbase and Firebird, lets you edit data and table structures, and runs SQL queries. It is installed as a desktop application; according to the project site it is available for Windows, Linux and macOS. The first version dates from 2002, and version 12.21 was released in August 2026.
HeidiSQL is developed by an individual developer in Germany, with no company or foundation behind it; the project site's imprint gives a German address. The source code is open under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Because it is a local program, it runs on your own workstation and connects directly to your database servers; there is no cloud service run by the maintainer that processes your data. The project site asks for donations. For organisations that administer databases, it is an open option alongside commercial management suites.
