Informer is a Dutch cloud-based bookkeeping program for small and medium-sized businesses and freelancers. It is also aimed at starters, foundations and associations, and at accountants, who get a portal for their clients. Its features include bookkeeping, invoicing, purchase invoices and receipts that are scanned with InformerAI, VAT returns, quotes, time tracking, integrations, a business bank account called Informer Money, and reports such as balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and debtor overviews. Mobile apps are available. The service was previously marketed as InformerOnline and was renamed Informer in 2025. No self-hosted edition is described.
The company states that it is made in the Netherlands, was founded in 1995 by Remco Frühauf, is a certified B Corp and is a development partner of the Dutch tax authority. Its website does not state who owns the company, and it does not name a hosting provider or data location; it only says that the data is held on firewall-protected servers. A European organisation should therefore request the hosting location and sub-processors in the processing agreement. The software is proprietary.
