According to Internxt, files are encrypted on the device before upload and the keys stay with the user, so the company cannot read files or recover them if the password is lost.

Internxt Universal Technologies SL is based in Spain, and no foreign parent company is named. The company states that its infrastructure runs in European data centres, with files spread across several locations; the countries and hosting providers are not published. Internxt says its code is public on GitHub and can therefore be reviewed. The security claims, including a 2024 audit by Securitum, come from Internxt itself.
