luckycloud is a German cloud storage provider for file sync and sharing, aimed at individuals, teams and companies. It offers synchronisation with selective sync, mobile apps, an online office editor, share and upload links, versioning, two-factor authentication, and WebDAV and optional S3 access. Client-side end-to-end encryption can be applied per folder. luckycloud also provides communication tools such as email, calendar and meetings. Larger plans add single sign-on and dedicated servers. According to a heise test, the service is based on Seafile.
luckycloud is headquartered in Berlin. heise reports that it operates exclusively German servers, and the provider presents itself as GDPR-compliant cloud storage from Germany. The sources consulted name no foreign parent company, and they do not show whether the service itself is open source. For European organisations this means German jurisdiction and hosting in Germany, with dedicated servers available on enterprise plans.
