Komoot is an outdoor route planning and navigation app and website, available on Android, iOS and in a browser. Users plan routes for hiking, cycling, road cycling and mountain biking, filter by distance, difficulty or public transport links, and get voice-guided navigation with offline maps. Komoot also offers curated route collections, a places directory, a community feature and business services such as embedding routes on websites. Its map data is based on OpenStreetMap. A free and a paid tier exist.
Komoot is a German company. In March 2025 it was acquired by the Italian company Bending Spoons, which is therefore its ultimate parent. According to the privacy policy, the website is hosted by Amazon Web Services EMEA in Luxembourg and location data is processed exclusively on servers in the EU. Some functions, such as customer support through Zendesk, do process data in the United States. Komoot is not open source. European organisations using the service should review the list of processors in the privacy policy.
