Langflow is a low-code environment for building AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications. Teams assemble flows visually from components for language models, vector databases and tools, and can expose them as an API or as an MCP server. The software is released under the MIT licence and runs locally, in Docker, as a desktop app for Windows and macOS, or through a hosted Langflow Cloud account.
Langflow was acquired by DataStax in 2024, and DataStax was in turn acquired by IBM, with the deal closing at the end of May 2025. The project is therefore under US ownership, and the hosted cloud service falls under US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. Because the code is open source, a European organisation can run Langflow on its own infrastructure and decide which models and vector stores it connects, which keeps data and keys under its own control. The product website does not state where the hosted Langflow Cloud stores data.
