Magister is a school management information system used in Dutch secondary education. Its product range includes Magister MX, Cijfertijd, Verantwoording & verzuim, Magister Learn and Magister Zorg, and it serves teachers, support staff, school leaders, pupils and parents. Schools use it as a service, and the supplier acts as processor for school data under a processing agreement.
Magister is a product of Schoologica. In 2019 the Dutch competition authority ACM approved the takeover of Iddink Group by Sanoma Learning and found that Iddink Group owns Magister. Iddink's website now describes the company as part of Sanoma Learning, which belongs to the Finnish learning and media group Sanoma. Schoologica states that it holds ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402 certifications. The vendor's public pages do not say where school data is hosted. Both the supplier and its parent group are in the EU, but hosting locations and sub-processors should be requested before use.
