Mollie is a payments company serving businesses in Europe and the UK. Its products include online payments, a checkout, payment links, in-person payments, recurring payments and invoicing, business accounts and capital, as well as embedded versions of payments, accounts and capital for platforms. Webshops and other online businesses use Mollie to accept payments from their customers; it is offered as an online service rather than software that customers run themselves.
Mollie is a Dutch company: its privacy statement is issued from Amsterdam and names the Dutch Data Protection Authority as the authority to which complaints can be addressed. Mollie describes itself as a regulated payment service provider supervised by national authorities, and says it has staff across Europe and the UK. The privacy statement does not name a single data-processing location. It notes that some data may be processed by third parties outside the European Economic Area, in which case Mollie relies on contracts and transfer mechanisms such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses. European merchants can ask Mollie for its sub-processors in the data processing agreement.
