Renovate is a tool that updates dependencies automatically. It finds references to packages in your code and opens pull requests when newer versions exist, including for lock files and monorepos. Configuration files and shareable presets let you control when and how updates appear. Renovate works with platforms including GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Gitea and Forgejo. You can run it yourself as an npm package or container image, or use the Mend Renovate app hosted by Mend.
Renovate is open source under the AGPL-3.0 and is maintained by Mend.io. The legal entity is White Source Ltd., which lists an Israeli address in Givatayim and a US office in Boston. According to Mend's privacy policy, customer data may be kept with third-party hosting providers in the US or the EU, depending on the customer's location and preference. If you self-host, you keep control of execution and of how source code is processed; for the hosted app, the processing location is not publicly specified.
