Rivet is a visual programming environment for building AI agents and prompt chains with large language models. In a graph-based, node editor you design an agent, see the input and output of each node, test variations and debug, including on a remote server. The editor is a desktop app, with prebuilt versions for macOS, Linux and Windows. The accompanying TypeScript libraries, rivet-core and rivet-node, run such a project inside your own application, as if it were a function. Rivet is maintained by Ironclad on GitHub.
Ironclad is a US company, based in San Francisco. Rivet is open source under the MIT licence, so you can inspect, run and modify the code yourself. Because the editor and the libraries run in your own environment, you decide where projects and data are kept. Which language models you connect, and where those process data, depends on the provider of the model you choose.
