Sage 50 is accounting software for small businesses with in-house bookkeepers. It covers invoices, quotes, cash-flow management, multi-currency trading, bank feeds and reconciliation, online VAT returns, stock and purchase order management, reporting and payroll. Sage 50 is installed on your own PC; data can be backed up locally and no internet connection is needed to use it. Cloud connectivity, such as Remote Data Access, provides remote access to the accounts, and the AI assistant Sage Copilot is offered as early access.
Sage 50 comes from Sage Group plc, which is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and listed on the London Stock Exchange. The package is not open source. Because the accounts are stored locally on your own PC when installed, the organisation decides where they are kept. For the cloud-connected features, the hosting location is not established in the sources consulted and should be confirmed with the vendor.
