SnelStart is based in Alkmaar. In late 2025 the German investor Bregal Unternehmerkapital gained control through Acta GroupCo B.V., after the Dutch competition authority (ACM) approved the takeover on 13 November 2025. According to SnelStart, an administration placed in the cloud is stored in a Microsoft Azure data centre within the European Economic Area, with SnelStart acting as processor. The website mentions ISO 27001 certification. Control therefore sits in Germany, while the hosting provider is a US cloud company; the data processing agreement shows the exact region and sub-processors.
