SOGo is a groupware server built on open standards and designed for scalability. It gives users a browser-based interface for email, calendars and address books, and supports native clients through CalDAV, CardDAV, GroupDAV and Microsoft ActiveSync, so phones can sync mail, contacts, events and tasks. SOGo integrates with directory and storage back ends such as Active Directory, OpenLDAP, SQL and IMAP, and supports single sign-on through CAS, WebAuth or Kerberos. It is installed on an organisation's own servers.
SOGo is open source, released under the GPL and LGPL. Development was taken over around 2006 by Inverse of Montreal, Canada. Since May 2022 Alinto, an email service provider based in Lyon, France, has been its commercial steward, offering professional support and a cloud version under the Sogomail brand. Because the software runs on your own infrastructure, an organisation chooses where data is stored and who administers it, and community support and paid support are both available.
