Solmicro: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Solmicro ERP is the ERP platform of the Spanish arm of the Zucchetti Group. It combines ERP and CRM with ten vertical modules, production planning and MES, business intelligence, HR and payroll, document automation and a hub for public-administration procedures, including Veri*Factu. It targets medium-sized and large companies, smaller businesses, self-employed professionals and accounting firms. According to Zucchetti Spain it is available as cloud, as an on-premise client-server installation, as a web environment and as a desktop solution; the company works with a distribution and partner network. The software is proprietary.

Solmicro was a Spanish company based in Bilbao when Zucchetti acquired it in 2016; Zucchetti is an Italian software group. The owner is therefore based in the EU. The pages reviewed do not say where cloud customers' data is hosted. European organisations should settle the region and hosting provider contractually in advance.

Why digital sovereignty matters with Solmicro

Solmicro is headquartered in ES and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data. The ultimate owner is based in IT, also within Europe.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so Solmicro scores best on data residency.

Solmicro is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs Solmicro together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
