Statamic is a content management system built on the Laravel PHP framework. It offers a control panel for editors and two storage options, flat files or a database. It is installed into a Laravel application and runs on the customer's own infrastructure, and developers extend it with Laravel packages. The offering is Statamic Core plus the separately licensed Pro edition. The source code is published on GitHub.

Statamic, LLC states on its legal and privacy pages that the company is located in the United States and that personal information it processes is handled outside the EEA; the pages do not name a hosting provider. Because the software runs on the customer's servers, the organisation decides where its site content is stored. The company itself is a US business, so data it processes is subject to US law. The privacy policy states that the company cannot make self-hosted installations fully GDPR-compliant on its own, so European organisations should check their obligations for each installation.
